In 1960 Jim Witt built and opened Witt Chevrolet. He operated the dealership until 1975 when he sold it to Robert Kirkpatrick. Mr. Kirkpatrick ran the dealership until 1978 when he went out of business.

The building sat vacant and there was no GM dealership in Dansville until 1981 when William Wentworth reopened the store.

At that time there were four brands being sold in Dansville. Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Cadillac as well as Chevrolet trucks. Mr. Wentworth had previously been employed by Mulkin Chevrolet in Brockport before opening Wentworth Motors Inc.

In 1992 Jim Day became Vice President of the company. While Mr. Wentworth enjoys being semi retired Jim runs the business on a daily basis.
